As from some of the phraseological units belonging to the linguistic and cultural Anglo space, this article addresses the comparison of two cultures, languages, and ways of conceiving, perceiving, and expressing the world. The descriptive support makes possible to compare lexical and syntactical examples to classify likely divergences produced between the two languages, and to select the convergences of a qualitative and quantitative methodology. The present work suggests a vertebrate and multidisciplinary statement, referring to the English and Spanish phrasal behavior, aimed at analyzing the difficulties of reading and its decoding for the translation from the native language into the object language. As the language and culture of its speakers cannot be analyzed in an isolated form, the social and cultural references exemplified in the phrasal units that speak about everything in and out of the text, should be regarded.
