A compendium of more than 30 publications which covered new investigations about main elements that intervened in the mechanisms of infection was performed, and diagnostic methods more used for the detection Sthaphyloccus aureus in microbiologic labs in the world and Cuba. New molecules that contributed to the infective process are in the study phase, for some of them its role in the mechanism was described. The method more expanded in our country is the essay of coagulase in tube. It was decided to inform the methods most used in the diagnosis of this entity, including the most recent, even in study phase and standardization in some cases, as well as to give some of the basic elements or factors that participate in the infection mechanism.
