A descriptive and cross sectional study about toxic habits addiction during pregnancy (alcohol & current smoking) and its perinatal results, was performed from January 2000 to December 2005, at Céspedes municipality, Camagüey. The universe was constituted by 102 pregnant women identified as current smoking and alcohol addictive. The prevalence of the addiction in pregnant population was about 21, 1 %, current smoking addicted 16 %, and alcohol addicted 5 %, the 21, 6 %were adolescents; the 35 % had a membrane premature rupture; 28, 5 % low birth weight, 31, 1 % a preterm newborn; 19, 4 % presented some genetic disorder; 20, 7 % presented a threatened abortion. Newborn morbidity was fundamentally given by a 23 % of lou Apgar and a 16, 8 % of bronchopneumonia. Addictions during pregnancy cause alterations that damage mother and son health.
