Data obtained from epidemiological surveys and validated by the chi-square test revealed that 69,4% of affected individuals required hospital admission (28,6% of them at the intensive care unit); 91,8% went to the different care centers with some level of dehydration, and once they were hospitalized 73,5% did not require antibiotic therapy.
