Resumen

CARBONELL AMIOT, Tania Delia; MONE MARTINEZ, Miriela  y  GARCIA FRESNEDA, Jorge Luis. Some clinical pathogenetic considerations on toxic hepatopathies. MEDISAN [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.1, pp. 127-134. ISSN 1029-3019.

Toxic hepatopathies are the consequence of hepatic damage caused by foreign substances, especially drugs. Although their true incidence is unknown, they cause 10% of the acute hepatitis in adults and 15 to 30% of fulminant hepatitis, thus continue to be an alarming health problem, despite the fact that some drugs have been withdrawn from the market for this reason. In this paper some general considerations on the topic are stated, particularly related to risk factors, drugs causing liver toxicity, most important clinical manifestations, diagnosis of hepatotoxicity and treatment, especially preventive one.

Palabras clave : toxic hepatopathy; liver toxicity; hepatic damage; drug.
