It is conducted a study that may contribute to elaborate the bases of a promotion program to reduce sexually transmitted diseases (STD). This study has two stages: in the first one it was used a population sample of 4 245 apparently sound individuals over 15, selected from various municipalities of the province of Villa Clara, whereas in the second 1 012 families were studied in an area of the capital of the province of Villa Clara. It is made a description of those subjects with a promiscous sexual conduct and it is measured the force of association of the variables connected with this conduct and their priority order, It is established a risk prognosis function regarding the possibility of getting STD on the basis of a multivaried analysis, and the bases for an early attention program of the risk groups considered under a new conceptualization are proposed. Chi square was used for the nominal variables, where as for ordinal and quantitative variables, mante and hoensee, and a multivaried discriminating analysis in combination with the clustering techniques, were used.

Palabras clave : SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES [prevention and control]; SEX BEHAVIOUR [psichology]; SOCIAL DISORDERS; NATIONAL HEALTH PROGRAMS; HEALTH PROMOTION.
