Resumen

An experimental research of community assay type was conducted to assess the results of the implementation of an Integral Program of Rehabilitation (educational, physical exercises and to break the smoking ) in the Matanzas province during 2010. Universe included 220 non-controlled hypertensive patients: 110 in the study group and 110 in the control one. A survey was applied at onset and at final of intervention, which was a course of basic information and continued education on high blood pressure including physical exercises and clinic to break smoking. The control group continued with program applied by family physician. Results in the intervention group were an increase in the knowledge level, increase in the physical exercises practice, more persons with a normal weight, more healthy diets, decrease of smoking and of diastolic and systolic means with fewer complications and increase of controlled patients with significant differences compared to figures before intervention. The control group had not significant changes. The number of patients to be treated was of 2,3.
