Resumen

SARDUY POLANCO, Yaisbel  y  JIMENEZ GARCIA, Adalín. The professional development of the speech therapist in cochlear implant and its impact on the professional performance. Gac Méd Espirit [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.1, pp. 134-139. ISSN 1608-8921.

The improvement of speech therapists cannot be seen away from the concept of permanent education, which is an approach that, presently and for some years, has been used in Cuba, which has also been studied since Plato’s times to present days.  That is the reason for the need of a constant improvement of speech therapists, so that from their performance they can achieve their purposes, allowing all implanted children their social reinstatement after rehabilitation, taking into account their abilities, as well as the corresponding improvement of quality of life with the use of the implanted devise.

Palabras clave : cochlear implant; speech therapist; professional development; professional performance; speech therapy; children.
