The purpose of this paper is to deepen the knowledge about alcoholism in part of the population of Rampa Policlinic, exploring their knowledge, attitudes and practices. A qualitative study was performed by the technique of focal groups and a retrospective, descriptive epidemiological technique was utilised. It was evident an increased alcohol intake among adolescent and young males, identifying environmental prone conditions and risk conducts It was shown that there's a distorted perception of alcohol intake and also a lack of information regarding this point. Ways of acting were known in connection with the population contact with this problem. A plan of rules was known regarding the prevention, attention and rehabilitation with alcohol related problems and it was to create a Program of Social Communication to promote healthy lifestyles and to widen up this study to the whole area.
