In this paper are made considerations about the need to form conceptions respect to treatment of innovation as a result of an organizational learning process become continuous integration and re-configuration of embedded knowledge in people, processes, systems and the practices of management, as platform to study the mechanisms through which the absorptive capacity is built and increased. It is proposed a conceptual model to explain the innovation capability at a company and establish its essential components, by identifying a set of variables to construct empirical measures to evaluate such capacity and its impact on the level of organizational performance. The research was developed at the Cuban´s distributed generation by fuel oil engines´ plants; these organizations presented insufficiency with strategic attitude to innovation, learning and environment, which limited the assimilation of the acquired technologies on years 2005-2008.
