This work evaluates and compares the environmental profile of the distributed electric power generation in front of other power sources in the province of Cienfuegos. The life Cycle Assessment Methodology of (LCA) presented in the NC ISO 14040 series of standards is taken as reference and it is complemented with the appraisal method by impact categories: ECO-SPEED, supported by the software OPENLCA 2,1. The statistical Software STATGRAPHICS15 is used for the data analysis and the software DECISION-TOOLS 5,1 for the risk assessment. As a result of the application of the life cycle assessment to the distributed electricity generation is presented a set of actions for improve the consumption of the resources and of the environmental impact of the main stations of distributed electric power generation
