Resumen

RODRIGUEZ JAVIQUE, Daylín. The fertility of hispanic and cuban women residing in the United State, a comparison. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.26, pp. 85-106. ISSN 1817-4078.

The present study compares the fertility rate of Cuban migrants living in the United States with that of other Hispanics and natives in the country during the period of 2000-2014. The study includes data published in the IPUMS base from the American Community Survey during these years. With this information, the fertility rates are calculated for Cuban migrants, for Hispanics, and for the rest of the natives in the United States. These comparisons are divided into two samples groups: residents in Florida, and residents in the rest of the country. The criteria used for the land division is founded on the concentration of the Cubans in Florida, where more than 75% of Cubans in the United States live. If done well, the results will observe and intend to relate the information in context to sketch various theories about the internal behavior of the fertility rate of migrants and natives.

Palabras clave : migration; fertility; Hispanics; Cubans; natives.
