In a world that reinvents itself daily, or intends to do so, the detailed following and strict foundation of the administration theories and approaches internationally proposed during the last 40 years are vital and overwhelm the mere scientific and academic interest. This study contextualizes both, theories and approaches, identifies their general characteristics, analyzes the basic ones, critically assesses their contents in order to make easier their understanding, establishes the existing links with other ideas in fashion and considers their transformer scope. A wide bibliographic search was needed in order to elaborate this study which would allow to make a logic and historical reflection that permit to debate the last administration tendencies with a critical and reflective perspective, all of which permit to enrich the heritage and the accumulated experience in this field.
