Having integrated systems that involve quality and environmental management has become a requirement and, consequently, a challenge to institutions what turns into a better competitive position. The present research presents the significance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Environmental Management System (EMS), starting from the analysis of series NC ISO 9000 (QMS), NC ISO 14001 (EMS), NC 18000 [Work Health and Safety Management System (Sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud en el trabajo) (WHSMS) and NC PAS 99 versions in force and their particularities in the Cuban Business System. In this sense, the paper stresses the existing difficulties for the integration of the above mentioned systems in the Cuban Oil Industry.
