Resumen

ARAUJO FRIAS, Jaime. The change of mentality to fight political corruption. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.2, pp. 305-310.  Epub 02-Abr-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The purpose of the article is to invite the reader to make a meditation from a philosophical perspective, trying to answer the question of what is political corruption. In addition, supported by some contributions from cognitive neuroscience, we will seek to suggest how to begin to develop strategies to combat it effectively. To do this, we have compiled information from books and journals published mainly in the last five years, selecting ten concepts of political corruption from contemporary philosophers. One of the conclusions that our research has produced establishes that political corruption consists of a thought, specifically, in the belief that power always corrupts; therefore, beginning to combat it effectively requires changing that thought.

Palabras clave : Political corruption; power; mentality; belief.
