The study aimed to map the production of knowledge on telemonitoring of elderly people followed up in households and to identify gaps in existing research. This is a scope review, 25 articles were selected in gray literature and in the following databases: MEDLINE (access via PubMed), Web of Science (WoS), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) and Virtual Health Library (BVS). The scope study made it possible to map the main repercussions of telemonitoring of elderly people accompanied at home. It also allowed us to recognize the main sources of telemonitoring that are used by the public. The findings may contribute to strengthening the use of telemonitoring of elderly people assisted in the community, due to the benefits in quality of life and to the expansion of advanced nursing practices using this strategy with this population group.
