Resumen

CASTILLO ALMAGUER, Danay. Female authorship writing in El Mercurio, cultural and literary magazine from 19th century Santiago de Cuba. UH [online]. 2015, n.280, pp. 107-119. ISSN 0253-9276.

El Mercurio, an 18th century weekly of Santiago de Cuba, presented a group of female authorship readings. acogió en sus páginas a un grupo de escritoras. In general, these women did not trascend the Cuban letter, but their presence in a deeply pathriarcal environment that diminish the female intelectual condition, is of the outmost significance. The development of several genders, all of them within the romantic tendency, allowed for the expression of a social tensión on teh role of women. Between obedience and contempt, the text reveal a still weak voice in the context of our letters.

Palabras clave : 19th century serial publications; Luisa Pérez de Zambrana; Dolores Fajardo Ortiz; Consuelo Mendoza; Manuela García Duque; Manuela Cancino de Beola; Dolores Elvira Valbuen.
