At UNAN-Managua, the curricular improvement process has been carried out in the undergraduate careers. This has consisted in the transition from a curricular model based on objectives, of a traditional nature, to a model to develop competencies. To implement it, a process of training of academic teams (curricular commissions) has been carried out during the following stages: construction of the curricular design of the careers, implementation and execution of the curriculum, and follow-up and evaluation. It is a study in continuous process, which captures the educational transformation operated by the application of the model to develop competence not only in the teachers, but also in the students. The results have made it possible, at this time, to make important decisions to improve student learning. Aware that the quality of student learning depends largely on teachers' knowledge of the model, the integration strategies, the active participatory methodology and the learning evaluation system, the Vice Rector's Office for Teaching has designed a strategy for continuous improvement of their training, which will be implemented in 2022 in response to the needs expressed by teachers and students. In this way, the quality of teaching knowledge will be raised and the immediate effect will be better learning and improved retention and promotion.
