Currently, dependence on toxins is among the disorders that carry the worst prognosis because once they are established they present a remarkable resistance to treatment and a marked tendency to relapse. This work is aimed at presenting the case of a 13 years old boy with a dependence on gasoline aspiration. During physical examination, typical characteristics of intoxication were found, which corroborated the reason why the child had been taken to consultation. While being hospitalized, the patient displayed symptoms of mild psychomotor agitation that were controlled with low doses of anxiolytics. The various interviews showed that the patient came from a dysfunctional family, which affected his mental health. Drug treatment and psychotherapy allowed the teenager to suppress gasoline inhalation. The literature review and consultation to the National Institute of Toxicology reported no evidence of similar cases being published in Cuba before.
