With the objective of demonstrating the incidence of this complication in our Cardiocenter, and exposing the experience obtained with ketamine, a retrospective study of all the children operated in a seven years period (1987-1993) is carried out. The case histories of 24 patients with this complications during that period are analyzed, an emphasis is made in the need of an early diagnosis in order to decrease fatal complications.
