Roux’s esophagojejunostomy in the shape of a Y is a valid alternative for the subtotal or total substitution of the esophagus when this organ is in situ as in the irrisectable cancer, or when the stomach is not useful because it is injured. The advantages of cervical anastomosis are dealt with as well as some important technical details in order to obtain enough length of bowel for the transposition of the loop.
