CABRERA MONTESINOS, Rafael; CASTRO ARIAS, Mercedes; TAPANES MOREJON, Jorge Luis  y  DURAN ARRIETA, Guillermina. Método físico para la regulación de la temperatura corporal. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 1997, vol.13, n.2, pp. 80-85. ISSN 1561-2961.

A descriptive study was performed on the application of different physical methods for the regulation of body temperature with the objective of knowing the most effective method. The sample consisted of 115 patients presenting with different diseases and admitted to "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Clinical and Surgical hospital in the service of Polyvalent Intensive Care during the period of January-November, 1994. For the performance of the study, a survery was applied to identify the most effective method for reducing body temperature evaluated by manual technique. As result of this study it was found that the application of a bath of warm water at 37EC reduced the body temperature in 30 patients with initial hyperthermia of 39EC. One hour after the bath the patient had 36.5EC proving the vasodilatation which occurs in the skin favouring blood supply and reducing body temperature.
