Resumen
SUAREZ ALBA, Omar y ARTILES CHAVIANO, Arcedy. Dominio de conocimientos generales de bioética en el hospital rural San Blas. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2004, vol.20, n.1, pp. 1-1. ISSN 1561-2961.
In the last few decades, there has been an enormous change in science and health, which leads to the necessary re-formulation of the medical ethics. A cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on 119 workers from the San Blas rural hospital grouped into the categories: physicians, nurses, technicians and service workers. An anonymous survey was administered to the hospital staff and data were reflected in tables and graphs. The results showed that the correct answers in 6 out of 10 questions were under 60%. The group that showed higher knowledge was the nurses, with 51,9% followed by technicians with 35,7%; physicians with 30,8% and service workers with 15%. It was concluded that the general knowledge on bioethics was insufficient in the health staff of the hospital, although deficiencies did not have the same characteristics among the different categories of the surveyed staff.
