This paper show the results of a project carried out between 2007 and 2011 with students from the faculties of Medicine, Nursing, Social Communication and Law, from the University of La Sabana, whose aim was to identify how an ICT mediated teaching strategy contributes to the development generic and specific skills in higher education. The research design was of mixed type. In quantitative conducted a quasi-experimental study with a control group with the aim of determine if the teaching strategy designed was better than that used by other teachers and qualitative level, a multiple case study in order to understand the reasons why it happened. The results suggest, in terms of specific skills, that 33% of students exceeded expected levels, 54.5 % reached the expected levels and the remaining 12.5 % , the minimum levels. In generic skills, 37.5 % of students exceeded expected levels, 52 % reached the expected levels and the remaining 10.5 % minimum levels.
