An updating bibliographic study of the approach, management and control of the patient with pelvis fracture was conducted. Morbimortality and its contributing factors, pelvis anatomy and the main classifications of this type of injury were analyzed. Particular emphasis was made on Tile and Deenis classifications. The physical examination and radiographic evaluation were also dealt with due to their importance. It was concluded that it was necessary to establish an institutional protocol for the treatment of polytraumatized patients with this type of fracture.
