Cancer is in health problem in the world and specifically in our country, that is why it is important to know its behavior in our province as a marker for determining work guidelines in the struggle againts cancer and the established programs. A cross-sectional, descriptive study of 1995 ( 20 years) was carried out, according to net rates, together with the proportional analysis of deaths, the study of years of life pontentially lost (YLPL) and proportion of main localization based on the information provided and processed through the National Register of Cancer, the Provincial Register of Cancer and the Unity of Analysis and Trends of the Provincial Sectorial of Health Camaguey Province has a rising tendency of incidence in both sexes , while in mortality the femenine sex is increasing and in masculine is stable. The rising of cancer mortality is observed in younger groups in the last few years, and it is show that localizations of lung , prostate, breast , colon and cervix have 50% of cancer death; and the 50 remaining for other localizations. Cancer occupied from 18 to 20% as a death cause in our province in the studied years and the YLPL considerably increased.
