Resumen

An experimental study, phase II,. early, in patients who attended to the teaching Dental Clinical within the period from november 1998 to february 1999, with diagnosis of simple periodontitis, with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the homeopathic treatment with phosphorous, was carried out. A total of 25 patients were studied, which were divided into two groups (13 and 12) as study and control group. Both groups were performed an initial treatment in periodontitia and the periodontal state was evaluated through periodontal index of Rusell and Mühlemann's bleending index at the beginning and the end of the study. Group I was treatd with phosphorous three times a day, in sublingual drops at low potency (6 CH) ad evaluated on seven and ten days. In group II it was only performed in initial treatment, no drugs were used. The effectiveness of homeopathic treatment was shown because all patients displayed a highly uccessful response, different result was obtained with those treated conventionally, in which these was only a slight improvement of the bleeding index, and it was different in the periodontal Rusell's index. Minimal symptoms of homeopathic worsening were presented.
