A desctriptive study to to show the task of the anesthesiologist at Martin Chang Puga General Teaching Polyclinic in Nuevitas during the triennium 2000-2002 was carried out. The general anesthethic method frequently used was endovenous, it was applied in 66, 01 % of patients. Among regional, subaracnoid anaesthesia prevailed whit 72, 55 % and the other types of anaesthesia used (N= 187) are mentioned in decreasing order: acunpucture; local plus sedation and combinated. Among therapeutic blocking performed, peridural was the most applied. Out of the service, 733 medical procedures which included peripheric and deep venous approach, lumbar functions and cardiopulmonary resuscitations, were performed.
