Resumen

GONZALEZ PEREZ, Alejandra; GONZALEZ MARTINEZ, Ana Rosa  y  GONZALEZ MENDOZA, Rita Nora. Diagnosis of professional skill acquisition for primary health care nursing. AMC [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.1, pp. 4-19. ISSN 1025-0255.

Background: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2003 to January 2004 at the Carlos J. Finlay School of Medicine by surveying teachers of the Bachelor of Nursing Course, and nursing scholars involved in primary health care. The study, aimed to diagnose professional skill acquisition, embodied a sample of 22 teachers and 129 health personnel. The curriculum was assessed and profiled. As it came out, the most common scenarios were the family physician offices (66.66 %), where professional skills were assessed (86.36 %). We conclude that most relevant skills were inferring, establishing priority, assessing, and executing. Diagnosis results were assessed qualitatively and quantitatively through the SPSS system, which lead ultimately to a proposal for curriculum design that includes acquisition of such skills.
