Resumen

SANCHEZ TARRAGO, Nancy. Approach to the anlysis of Hygiene and Epidemiological domain in Cuba through the scientific production of a specialized journal. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 2007, vol.45, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3003.

With the objective of approaching to the analysis of scientific domain Hygiene and Epidemiology in Cuba, the scientific production of Revista Cubana de Higiene y Epidemiología was reviewed from 2000 to 2005. For the visualization of coauthor relations, journal cocitation, and subject heading cocitation, we used the techniques of social networks, cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling. It was detected that the highest number of contributions to the journal came from the researchers in the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, which is influencing the predominance of papers on epidemiology of chronic non-communicable diseases and environmental health, but topics as food hygiene, occupational health and epidemiology of communicable diseases are less addressed. Therefore, it is considered that the scientific production of the above-mentioned journal only allows making a partial analysis of this domain.
