The present work deals with the systematization of the theoretical conceptions regarding the teaching of literacy to children with mild intellectual disability, as well as the main techniques and standardized methods to be implemented in the aforesaid process. Its objective is to design a proposal of speech therapy activities using the Glenn Doman method, to facilitate the process of teaching literacy to children with mild intellectual disabilities. Methods such as consulting sources, analysis and synthesis, induction-deduction, modeling, observation and interview were used. The implementation of the proposal made it possible to increase the level of training of teachers, speech therapists and families according to the learning process of literacy, and it also allowed to obtain significant achievements in the learning process of children.
