ALECSANDER RIGO, Jeferson; AIRTON CONSALTER, Luiz; PORTELLA, José Antônio y DURAN, Orlando. Performance study of mild steel drilling with carbide uncoated tools with and without cutting fluids. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2017, vol.20, n.2, pp. 65-70. ISSN 1815-5944.
This paper presented a comparative study of performance in drilling with uncoated twist drills in the manufacture of mild steel parts. Using the final collapse of the tool as the criteria of end of life, the numbers of manufactured holes using two different types of cutting fluids were compared. The results point to a slight difference between the yields for both lubrirefrigeration media. This finding is important in production environments if one have in mind that the cost difference between the two fluids is in the order of 1:10.
