The calculation method of the fuel consumption index of Diesel Generating Sets was analyzed; this technology was characterized considering the different load levels and the result was presented in graphic form. In the combustion process, the behavior of the temperatures and pressures of diesel, lubricant, air and coolant with respect to the fuel consumption index was characterized. Using the UPD estimation method, these behaviors have been modeled mathematically, assuming that they depend on the load levels and the operating time of the point where it is estimated. With the present investigation and by means of an experimental study the regularities of the operational behavior of the diesel generator sets during their work were defined at 75%, 80%, 90% and 100%
