SOCARRAS-CORDOVI, Yamila Concepción; ALVAREZ-DEULOFEU, Eduardo Rafael y GALBAN-RODRIGUEZ, Liber. Buildings seismic behavior of Soviet Large Concrete Panel Housing System in relation to soil factors. Min. Geol. [online]. 2021, vol.37, n.2, pp. 214-230. Epub 30-Jun-2021. ISSN 1993-8012.
The structural conception of Soviet Large Concrete Panel Housing System gives it a high degree of hyperstaticity. However, there are uncertainties about the seismic behavior of buildings built in Santiago de Cuba province, Cuba due to the presence of pathological damages in joints, elements, and also due to the modifications in weight and rigidity made by inhabitants. Given the incidence of soil factors that increase the problem, the seismic behavior of these buildings is evaluated in relation to the type of soil, resonance and landslide sensibility, with probability of overturning. Firstly, a documentary analysis of location area is used and a structural modeling of two variants of building is carried out in a second stage, by using the ETABSv18 software. It is concluded that, in both variants, landslide is not possible, but it is evident that overturning is really possible to occur. Similarly, resonance and soil liquefaction are unlikely.
