DOMINGUEZ VENTO, Calixto; ALBONIGA GIL, Roberto Amado  y  IGLESIAS CORONEL, Ciro Enrique. Evaluation in laboratory conditions of the labor quality of four scarifiers placed in a series of steps with width of decreasing work. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2014, vol.23, n.1, pp. 11-17. ISSN 2071-0054.

This work evaluates the labor quality of four scarifiers placed in a series of steps with decreasing width, working under laboratory conditions in Rhodic Ferrasol soil. In order to do this, an experimental model of C-101XV to a 1:2 scale was designed, using the theory of the Dimensional Analysis and Similitude; in which the width of work of the lateral coulters is diminished according to depth. The obtained results indicate that 70% of the originated clods are inferior to 40 mm in diameter and just a 13, 47% has a diameter smaller than 10 mm, obtaining an average of more than 56, 88% of clods with appropriate size to plant sugarcane between 10 and 40 mm. On the other hand, a worked area of 0,163 m2 is obtained and a profile of tillage similar to the recommended in the technical instructions is achieved. These results allow to design and construct an experimental prototype for the preparation of the stripe tillage for planting sugarcane.

Palabras clave : stripe tillage; clods; worked area.
