The hydraulic design of the central pivot irrigation system was carried out with groundwater extraction for maize cultivation. It was based on the integration of the characteristic curves of the aquifer, the well, the centrifugal pump and the pipes, considering hydrogeological, hydraulic, edaphic and agronomic variables, which generated a nonlinear equation, solved with the Newton Raphson´s method to determine the design flow in the central pivot. The results obtained ratify the need to consider all factors to achieve an adequate hydraulic design, which contributes to save water and energy resources
