Government officials of Popular Power have the responsibility of articulating individuals and actions around the municipal government, in order to solve environmental problems at the local level. Aligned to this claim, the objective of the research consisted in diagnosing the initial state of the environmental formation of these actors. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with a qualitative-quantitative approach during the year 2021 and the first semester of 2022. The research methods, based on assuming the dialectical-materialist method, included the theoretical ones: historical/logical, systematization and the structural systemic; and empirical methods documentary analysis, survey, interview and observation. The results revealed that there are difficulties in the studied process, being evaluated the cognitive and procedural dimensions of regulating. Likewise, it is of significant importance that the attitudinal dimension reached the evaluation of good. It was concluded that the process of environmental training of Government Officials of People's Power manifests insufficiencies that affect the effectiveness of their management in solving the environmental problems of the territory, which requires the implementation of a training program that enables them for an adequate environmental management, focused on the participation of the local actors involved, based on sustainable local development.
