Science in universities tends, in a general sense, to be organized through research projects that are linked to the rest of the components. The objective of the present investigation was to analyze the scientific production of the UMET, Machala Headquarters, for the continuous improvement of the research component in its interaction with teaching and the link with the community. The methods used from the theory were the historical-logical and the analytical-synthetic and from the empirical, the document analysis, the bid data of the UMET, Machala Headquarters, as well as the mathematical statistics. The fundamental results were in three directions, one, the scientific production in indexed journals, as well as the publication of books and book chapters. Two, the participation in national and international events where there was an interaction between teachers and students. The third, the impacts that the University has caused in the community where it is located, both social and economic. It can be concluded that the university is a fundamental flint in the technical scientific development of Orense society.
