This article describes the experiences of teaching and learning that has acquired the Virtual Community of Practice "Teachers Online" extension activity of the National University of La Plata, Argentina, from its approach and interaction with teachers, researchers shows and students of all levels and from anywhere in the country and abroad, which directly or indirectly demanded the need to improve their computer skills and use of technology in their daily educational practices. It draws attention to the benefits of incorporating the virtual tools to extension work. Equally possible ways in which these resources could broaden the horizons of outreach activities that develop in person mode and also the possibility of creating others that are purely virtual analyzes.
