LOPEZ ILISASTIGUI, Alina; ILISASTIGUI ORTUETA, C. Zaida Teresa  y  PEREZ BORREGO, Amparo. Recurrent Aphthous  Stomatitis characterizes attending the Teaching Stomatologic Clinic "Hermanos Gomez": Octuber 10 Municipality. Rev haban cienc méd [online]. 2009, vol.8, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1729-519X.

We performed a transversal descriptive study in order to describe Recurrent Aphthous  Stomatitis diagnosed on 123 patients of both sexes, age of twenty or more years, attending the Teaching Stomatologic Clinic "Hermanos Gomez", Octuber 10 Municipality, during a period ranging from September 2005 to February 2007. The used variables were: clinical classification of  lesions, age, sex, and some possible etiological factors of the disease. We found that the Lesser type of the disease was the most common and the Major type was the less frequent. The disease appeared with higher frequency among younger individuals, females. This results are similar to those found on the reviewed references. A representative amount of the surveyed patients showed at least one of the studied risk factors. We get the conclusion that the behaviour of this disease on the studied sample is comparable. That found on other places.
