Resumen

PADRON, Hilda Santos. The philosophy of science and its application on human health. Rev haban cienc méd [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.4, pp. 521-531. ISSN 1729-519X.

Introduction: The scientific advances and uncontrolled development of technologies give place to important reflections about the validity of conventional philosophical postulates that propelled the advancements of science in previous centuries. A critical evaluation about nowadays validity, relevance and usefulness of the philosophy of science in human health is presented in this research. Material and Methods: To do this we basically based on documentary and bibliographical review about the most important philosophical statements of the past 20th century and their utility in the area of health. Results: Comments and critical evaluation were considered as an approach to knowledge about the characteristics of health professionals in their scientific research performances at different health care facilities and research centres. Conclusion: It was concluded that with some exceptions the epistemological and methodological principles that must support a scientific research to prove the rigorous observation of the scientific object were not totally observed in many health professionals research reports.
