PEREZ CABRERA, Pedro Pablo; PEON PEREZ, Beatriz; REGUEIRO BUSOCH, Carmenchu  y  REGUEIRO GOMEZ, Angel. Characterization of diaphragmatic activity during the study of mechanical breathing. EAC [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.1, pp. 86-98. ISSN 1815-5928.

Assisted ventilation is a technique applied to patients with complicated respiratory problems due to multiple pathologic factors, specially applied in surgery rooms and intensive care rooms. Actual assisted ventilation systems (smart ventilators), used to incorporated complex invasive catheter with several sensors, located through esophagus, which enhance the probability of patient damage during positioning medical procedure and device use. They are used as ducts to assure patient nourishment during long times of clinical recovery, for that reason they require periodical replacement, because the biomaterial employed for they manufactory can’t be expose to digest systems liquids for high used times (< 5 days). These paper shows the design of an alternative non-invasive for the study and characterization of diaphragmatic activity related with neural controlled respiration, from an electrode array selection placed properly on the thorax, connected to acquisition Kit (ADS1298ECG-FE) controlled by an interphase that allowed all inner channel representation. Helped by a processing tool based on MATLAB, could be check the existing correlation (> 95%) between respiratory frequency thoracic record and the nasal measure, that allowed simplified the following process of respiratory mechanic on subjects with neural assisted ventilation.

Palabras clave : Assisted respiration; Non-invasive measure; diaphragmatic biopotential acquisition.
