The postural reference frame as an assessment tool is highly specific and can aid in the diagnosis of LL among young asymptomatic patients. The posture is a position or attitude of the body, is the characteristic way that takes the same for a specific activity; so it is necessary to maintain proper posture and get the best performance in different daily activities. The most frequent posture alterations are kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis which are influenced by the risk factors. Determine the risk factors that will cause posture changes in children from 8 to 13 years old at the School of basic education tax "Richard Burgos Suárez" sector from "Trinitaria Island" City of Guayaquil. We made a prospective study, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental cross-sectional design, relational scope and deductive method. For this purpose surveys, Posture Test, Adams and Busquet were performed. The population was 388 students, of whom was sampled 198 children, according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Incidence of scoliosis of 41% of the total population; which 24% is structural etiology and 76% functional, 67% of cases origin is muscle - skeletal and 33% is of cranial origin. Behind analyzing risk factors, they showed a significant level, the excessive weight of the backpack and school furniture design. It is important to pay due attention to posture problems, to avoid the establishment of posture alterations in school.
