At present, the development of citizen education as a dimension of the professional training process emerges as a social imperative. The interest in this subject is a daily concern for academic circles at national and international levels, where man`s values, professional education, the conception of the pedagogical process and curriculum design play a very important role. In Cuba, the treatment to this problem is given by means of the declaration of the objectives to be achieved in both the initial and ongoing training, which are specified in the direction of the teaching-learning process of the different subjects of the curriculum which is aimed to a wholesome education of the future professionals. Therefore, the theoretical treatment of citizenship education and its contribution to the formation of a citizen with a decisive participation, as a political actor of public affairs, with individual and collective practices tending to generate the promotion of the exercise of citizenship in its Social context.
