The objective of the research was to determine the efficacy of a psychoeducational program to develop the social skills of peruvian adolescents in the fifth grade of secondary education. The research focus was quantitative, the experimental design and the type of pre-experimental design with evaluation before and after the application of the program. The participants belonged to the fifth grade of secondary education of a public educational institution in the city of Puerto Maldonado, who received 16 psychoeducational sessions based on the Manual of Social Skills in School Adolescents designed by the Ministry of Health. To evaluate the effectiveness of the program, the Social Skills Assessment List was used, which was validated by expert criteria. According to the results, there are statistically significant differences (p = 0.00 <0.05) between the mean scores, before (142.03) and after (173.66) of the intervention. It was concluded that the psychoeducational program proved to be effective since it managed to develop the social skills of adolescents in the fifth grade of secondary education.
