Resumen

MACIAS LIMA, Asnaldo; LEON GONZALEZ, Leticia; NUNEZ MARTINEZ, Frank L.  y  ARTEAGA GONZALEZ, Susana Rufiana. Teach and learn from disaster risk management: a need of these times. Conrado [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.88, pp. 501-509.  Epub 27-Oct-2022. ISSN 1990-8644.

Natural and man-made events in most cases become disasters or catastrophes that bring with them human and material losses of varying intensity, whose cost is combined with that associated with the successive reconstruction processes that must be implemented. However, not every threat must necessarily lead to a disaster; and that is where the main contribution of disaster risk management lies, which can be corrective, reactive or prospective. This article infers to know how student-teachers of Pedagogical careers can be influenced in terms of natural and man-made disasters that have occurred in Cuba, and incorporate disaster risk management within Defense and National Security subjects. The foregoing is based on the hypothesis that said inclusion seems to be rather efficient, and when it occurs, it tends to focus mainly on reactive risk management.

Palabras clave : Risks; Danger; Vulnerabilities; Disaster risk management; Teacher improvement.
