OLIVO TORRES, Rosita Elizabeth del Carmen  y  ENRRIQUEZ GRIJALVA, Mauricio Fernando. Research on x-linked adrenoleukodystrophy as part of the postgraduate program. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.92, pp. 146-154.  Epub 30-Jun-2023. ISSN 1990-8644.

Postgraduate training is of great importance in the professional development of health personnel. Delving into specific topics and not so common conditions is one of the advantages. Adrenoleukodystrophy is a genetic disorder linked to the X chromosome in a recessive way caused by a defect in the ABCD1 gene, it is a peroxisomal pathology, which produces accumulation of long-chain saturated fatty acids. It is a progressive disease that is associated with demyelination of the central and peripheral nervous system, adrenal insufficiency, testicular involvement, and accumulation of very long-chain fatty acids. Due to the above, it is proposed as a research objective: to diagnose from the teaching point of view, the relevance of the study of X-linked ALD as part of postgraduate training. To meet the objective, theoretical and empirical methods were used. It was obtained as a result that most of the teachers consulted consider that it is pertinent and the best option for deepening the study of Adrenoleukodystrophy, postgraduate studies. Among the reasons given is that it should be investigated in depth among the professionals who are in the exercise of their functions, since they can identify it.
