This research aims to analyze how education can positively influence the conservation of environmental rights of the peoples of Ecuador. For this, the application of a qualitative approach and the use of data collection techniques are proposed, such as interviews with experts in environmental education and community leaders, focus groups and review of specialized documents. A global methodology was proposed to help Ecuadorian communities defend their environmental rights through education and the promotion of citizen and community participation in the protection and conservation of the environment, which was applied in the Loreto region, province Orellana. Interviews with experts in environmental education and community leaders, focus groups and review of official documents were carried out in which the different existing deficiencies were reflected. An environmental educational plan was prepared based on the identified needs and priorities. The selected methodology was adequate to meet the objectives and guide the research process until the generation of new knowledge.
