Resumen

Background: the current historical situation in Latin America imposes that either in Cuba or in the rest of these countries; the professionals should get ready in relation to the integration projects. Objective: to design the postgraduate course "Integration projects in Latin America and the Cuban medical collaboration" for professors of the medical sciences. Methods: it was carried out a descriptive research work in the "Lidia Doce Sánchez", University Site of the Medical Sciences from Sagua la Grande, in Villa Clara province, during the academic year 2014-2015. The population comprised 80 professors, 56 professors were selected out of the population by means of a non random sampling by criteria. Different theoretical and empiric methods for data collection were applied. They were used for the information processing, the descriptive statistics and the analysis of qualitative data. Results: most of the professors had an elemental and average knowledge level about the Latin American integration projects and the participation of the Cuban medical mission. The topics were designed in the didactic-theoretical, practical and integrative order, with the participation of a nominal group. Conclusions: according to the diagnosis carried out, the course "integration Projects in Latin America and the Cuban medical collaboration" was designed, which was accepted with the consensus of the professors and it was valued by the specialists as pertinent keeping in mind the professionals to whom it´s intended for, its feasibility and scientific-methodological quality.
