The work exposes the needs and opportunities that are strengthened in the university - business link through technical consultancies for the development of companies. In particular, it is emphasized that this activity reinforces the intangible for the development of an environment of companies in the chemical and fermentative industry, the consulting activities from universities with postgraduate support as the mission to solve immediate problems and prospective development with the participation of the specialists of the companies themselves. A heuristic diagram is shown with the interrelation between the development of consultancies, the analysis and resolution of problems in the industry, the development of disciplines (research and postgraduate), the environment and the increase of production capacity. Finally conclusions and recommendations are drawn up highlighting that these consultancies are necessary, possible and constitute an intangible for local development.
